Dr. Abhay Kudale has completed a Diploma in Health Care and Management in Tropical Countries and a Certificate Course in Health District Management at the Swiss Tropical Institute, University of Basel, Switzerland. He has 22 years of experience in public health, epidemiological, health social sciences research on programmatic and policy aspects of Tuberculosis, Leprosy, HIV and Influenza. He worked on cross-cutting global health topics, including social stigma and gender and has expertise in cultural epidemiology and mixed- methods research
Dr Kudale is a member of the International Federation of Anti-Leprosy Associations (ILEP) technical commission for the working group on empowerment, participation and stigma. He has worked with the World Health Organization (WHO), India as a National Expert for the Independent Evaluation of the National Leprosy Eradication Programme. He is a Review Editor of the division of Disease Prevention and Control Policy for Frontiers in Tropical Diseases, Switzerland. He is in the team of resource persons facilitating nationwide workshops of State TB Nodal officers on the 'Gender responsive approach to TB'. In addition, he worked on World Bank and WHO, India assignment for the Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme Phase- II Project Implementation Plan.
