Every scholarly communication involves writing, peer review, and publication. However, the life-cycle of scientific literature does not end with its publication. The published literature gets scrutinized and reviewed by the scientific community on various platforms. 'Journal Club' is one such platform wherein a group of researchers critically evaluate published research and discuss its key findings. The J-AIM follows a stringent pre-publication peer review process and also encourages post-publication review as it helps the authors to receive feedback for their work from the scientific community. Journal Clubs also help readers understand reviewing better and train them to become future reviewers. Keeping this in mind a new platform namely “Journal Club” has been established to scrutinize and critically evaluate the published literature by the scientific community that include postgraduates of Ayurveda, researchers and faculty from all over India.
We invite participation from post-graduate students/researchers/faculty for the upcoming Journal Clubs. If interested, please email your interest along with a statement of intent and 3 articles of your choice to editor.jaim@gmail.com with the subject line as 'Participation in J-AIM Journal Club'.
J-AIM is offering a ‘Internship in Science Communication’ for post-graduate and doctoral students. The internship is designed to give the selected interns a complete experience in different domains of science communication. During the internship program, the interns will get exposure on the research to publication journey in the science, technology, and medicine areas and will gain experience in publication ethics, scientific writing, editing, and the entire publication process. The interns will gain practical experience which will help them prepare for their future careers.
The Peer Review Week is celebrated globally by individuals, institutions, organizations to celebrate the role of peer review in scholarly communication. A good peer review is essential in maintaining the integrity and quality of scientific literature. J-AIM follows a stringent peer review process and maintains quality and high standards of peer review. The journal understands the essential role of reviewers and editors in the peer review process and hence, in recognition of their efforts, will be observing the Peer Review Week every year.
JAIM will be organizing virtual events like expert talks and panel discussion with the hope to create awareness about the critical role of peer review process in research along with fundamentals, stakeholders, ethics and challenges involved during the review process. The participants will get an opportunity to interact with national and international scientists, reviewers and editors known for their contributions in research communication.
A good research article is a culmination of good research, writing, peer review and publication. Researchers frequently struggle with one or more of the aforementioned aspects. Hence, it is essential to understand these components to ease the ‘research to publication’ journey. Keeping in mind the need to create awareness regarding scholarly communication, the J-AIM organized ‘J-AIM Webinar Series’, a series of talks on various aspects of science communication and publication ethics.
