Savitribai Phule Pune University
Completing my Bachelors in biotechnology from Modern College, Pune, I developed my interest for scientific research. My passion led me towards working in method development of Vitamin- D analysis from dried blood spots (The paper being published in NATURE journal for which I am a co-author). The study consisted of handling and processing of about more than 2500 samples where, primarily I’ve carried out sample collection, separation, labelling, storage, followed by processing. I have carried out clinical studies of diabetic patients, on field projects regarding Bone Density and PQCT as well as case study for comparison of maternal Anaemia and pregnancy outcomes. Currently, I work as a project fellow on the Indian Human Microbiome Initiative project. Alongside this study, I am also a helping hand for an ongoing Clinical Trial “Ashwagandha as Vaccine Adjuvant''. Along with the other colleagues, my role in this trial starts from recruiting, counselling and convincing participants, screening, randomising and follow ups. The Ashwagandha trial has improved my communication and interactive skills.
I believe in cherishing Ayurveda in my daily practices, also, it is a state of delicate balance between the mind, body and spirit. Apart from Academics I enjoy playing badminton, table tennis, cycling, trekking etc.
